Drug Crimes In Georgia: What To Know
Georgia takes drug activity incredibly seriously. The unlawful possession of a Schedule III, IV or V controlled substance is a felony that could result in up to five years of incarceration. These substances include:
- Anabolic steroids
- Ketamine
- Ativan
- Valium
- Xanax
The unlawful sale or distribution of Schedule I and II substances are also felonies – but they could result in up to 30 years in prison. Schedule I and II substances include:
- Heroin
- Marijuana
- Ecstasy
- LSD
- Methamphetamines
- Cocaine
- Fentanyl
Remember, even though many states across the U.S. are deregulating marijuana as we speak, the use of recreational cannabis and medical cannabis are not fully legal yet in Georgia.
